Building Protection – Bird Proofing
As part of the range of business services we offer, proofing of buildings has become a large part of our workload. To prevent birds roosting and ingressing particularly in the case of feral pigeons whose presence poses an immediate health issue, Avon Pest Control has a team of specially trained surveyors and installation technicians on hand to help.
Whether the requirement is a small single easy to reach nest site on a flat roof or a complex flock control and town centre environment protection survey, we will assess the situation and come up with the workable solutions to discretely contain the problem.
Sometimes it’s a question of simple advice and perhaps signage installation that’s required, other situations will need ongoing maintenance of existing installations this could be on difficult to reach structures at very high level.
Another necessity nowadays is correct identification of target or non-target species as legislation has evolved to ensure our resident bird flocks are correctly treated and cared for. Not everybody sees feral pigeons, starlings, covids and gulls as nuisance birds so any protection/control measures have to be mindful of this.
Prevention systems have been developed to move birds rather than control them and we fully support this in our approach.
The house mouse, Mus musculus is a widespread, common and all too well known inhabitant of the UK, which probably arrived here in the baggage of our Neolithic ancestors some 4000 or 5000 years ago.
It can be distinguished from the wood mouse by its greyer-brown fur. The wood mouse has much whiter feet and under parts and has no noticeable odour.
